7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government

Building Trust"Building Trust in Government” is the motto of the 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government, which will take place from 26 to 29 June 2007 in the UN Headquarters in Vienna. The meeting will be hosted by the United Nations, with support from UN organisations,  members and international partners, in cooperation with the Austrian Government.

The highest ranking governmental delegates as well as representatives of private and international organisations and of NGOs will attend the 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government. Their ambition is to compile the best strategies and practices to intensify citizens’ trust in their country’s governance. The conference also offers the attendees an ideal opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas and to establish grounds for a new cooperation.This meeting follows six previous regional forums, which will influence this conference as their conclusions will be presented.

The forum's agenda will be comprised of plenary sessions concerning seven different topics, for example "Citizens Expectations and Trust in the State” and "Building Trust through Transparent Governance and Access to Information”. Further workshops and meetings will mainly focus on strengthening governmental institutions and improving the quality of governance.The results of the workshops and the Global Forum Declaration will be presented at the end of the conference. Due to its ambition to ensure transparency and quality in governance, the 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government will make a further contribution to the global abatement of corruption and to good governance.
