DNA reportThe Romanian Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) has recently released a report on the Corruption and Fraud in Public Procurement seminar, which took place on 7 and 8 June in Bucharest.

The seminar had been organized in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation and EPAC/EACN.

The report features a summary of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), France, Germany and Romania’s specific experiences in combating fraud and corruption in public procurement, and also offers insight on data analytics methods and tools in identifying/investigating it and the financial consequences of committing it. Apart from this, the report provides a summary of best practices on aspects such as types of incrimination, preferred means of investigation and difficulties in the process, confiscation and asset recovery, and the role of education and training. The findings are based on the exchanges of experiences between over 50 participants; members of EPAC/EACN authorities.
