17th NACOLE Conference

NACOLE 2011The National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (NACOLE) will hold its 17th   Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana from 11 to 15 September 2011.


NACOLE is a non-profit organization that brings together individuals and agencies aiming to establish or improve police oversight in the United States.The this year’s Keynote Speaker, Bernard K. Melekian, Director of the Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) will be speaking about the evolution of policing in the 21st Century toward new professionalism and the role of civilian oversight in that process. This event provides an opportunity for citizens, practitioners of civilian oversight, and law enforcement officials to exchange information regarding civilian oversight, law enforcement and how they both affect the communities we live in.
