2nd Working Group on the Constitutions

From 15 to 16 October 2009 the second informal working group meetings on possible future terms of reference for the EPAC and EACN took place in Vienna.

As agreed in the Manchester Declaration, the second informal meetings of the EPAC Partners Working Group "Constitution” and the EACN Constitution Working Group were held in Vienna last week.  Nearly 30 heads and key representatives of 16 EPAC and EACN organisations from 13 EU Member States and neighbouring countries followed the invitation of the EPAC Secretariat - sent out to all partners and already known contact points - for two half-days in order to finalize first drafts for basic EACN and EPAC ToR. As also agreed in Manchester, these draft-constitutions will serve as a solid basis for discussion and formal approval at the 9th Annual EPAC Conference from 4 to 6 November 2009 in Slovenia.

The successful and productive working group meetings showed once again the good European spirit of operational bodies fighting the abuse of power based upon the common work of nearly a decade and promising for an even closer and more efficient work in the future.
