EPAC/EACN webinar on "Strengthening integrity in law enforcement agencies"

The Special Investigation Service (STT) of the Republic of Lithuania is organising an international webinar on the topic of "Strengthening integrity in law enforcement agencies", which is open to all EPAC/EACN members and observers. This webinar aims to demonstrate various approaches and methods towards greater integrity and to create a corruption resistant environment within law enforcement. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, 2 PM (CEST, 14:00, Paris/Vienna/Warsaw time) via the platform “Zoom”. The duration of the webinar is up to 2 hours.

Ms Lucile Rolland, Deputy Head of the French National Police General Inspectorate and EPAC/EACN Vice-President,  will share her experience on how to ensure integrity within the French National Police. Mr Hugh Hume, Commissioner of the Ireland Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission and EPAC/EACN Deputy Vice-President, will discuss structures, strategies and processes necessary to effectively counter the threat of internal corruption in a police service”.

In addition, there will be two more speakers, one from Lithuania and one Ukraine. Mr Žydrūnas Butkevičius, Head of Immunity Board of the Police Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania will hold a presentation on tackling corruption and strengthening integrity and the role of Police Immunity Board, while Mr Iaroslav Liubchenko, Deputy Head of the National Agency of Corruption Prevention (NACP) of Ukraine, will share the NACP experience on how to strengthen integrity in law enforcement agencies.

The webinar will be opened with the remarks by Mr Linas Pernavas, Director of the Lithuanian STT, and will be moderated by Mr Benas Aldakauskas, Head of Anti-corruption Education Division of the Lithuanian STT.
